The Living Water Foundation focuses on development aid and humanitarian projects worldwide, with a focus on poverty, access to water, food, healthcare, education, and religious education.

The foundation aims to address topics such as addiction, trauma, and identity, and to help people heal and grow through creative means.

Background

The Living Water Foundation was established with the aim of contributing to the well-being of people, animals, and society through knowledge sharing, practical projects, and collaboration. The foundation pursues the public interest and is a non-profit organization.

Mission

The mission of the Living Water Foundation is to provide hope, practical help, and spiritual support to people in vulnerable circumstances, inspired by Christian values.

The objectives and activities of the Living Water Foundation are closely aligned with several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on basic services, health, education, and sustainability.

Education projects and awareness-raising programs expand knowledge, skills, and opportunities, with a special focus on children and young people.

Living Water’s core activity: establishing and supporting water supply and sanitation projects for safe drinking water and good hygiene.

Activities of the institution

The foundation’s work encompasses a wide range of activities. The foundation carries out activities that are practical, educational, health-promoting, and structurally sustainable.
 
1. Water and Sanitation Projects

  • Construction of wells, rainwater harvesting systems, and piped networks in villages without safe drinking water.
  • Installation of sustainable filtration systems to purify contaminated water.
  • Construction and maintenance of sanitation facilities to improve hygiene and public health.

 
2. Food Security and Agricultural Support

  • Setting up vegetable gardens and agricultural projects with local communities.
  • Training in sustainable agricultural techniques, such as drought-resistant cultivation and composting.
  • Distribution of seeds, tools, and fertilizers to farming families.

 
3. Health and Hygiene

  • Organizing medical missions and health campaigns.
  • Providing information on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Constructing wells, rainwater harvesting systems, and piped water networks in villages without safe drinking water.
  • Collaborating with local health centers to improve healthcare infrastructure.

 
4. Education and Capacity Building

  • Building or renovating schools and classrooms.
  • Providing teaching materials, school uniforms, and scholarships for underprivileged children.
  • Training teachers and volunteers in modern, child-centered teaching methods.

 
5. Emergency Aid and Crisis Response

  • Distribution of food parcels, clean water, and emergency relief items in the event of disasters.
  • Support for reconstruction after natural disasters or conflicts.
  • Deployment of mobile medical teams in crisis situations.

 
6. Sustainable Community Development

  • Establishment of cooperatives for water management or agricultural production.
  • Training in entrepreneurship and microfinance for economic independence.
  • Awareness-raising campaigns on climate adaptation and environmental management.

Fundraising

The necessary funds are raised (among other things) through:

  1. Donations of resources and goods (knowledge, time, materials, etc.);
  2. Grants and other funds;
  3. Reimbursements for services provided by the foundation (within the ANBI framework).

Management of the institution’s assets

The institution’s assets are managed by the treasurer, who is appointed by the board of directors, and audited by the auditor. The foundation is a non-profit organization.

Use of the institution’s assets

The institution’s assets are used for:

  1. Supporting projects that contribute to the objectives;
  2. Financial support for certain subprojects;
  3. Acquiring knowledge and services.

Planning

Activities commenced immediately after the foundation was established.

Appointment of the Board

The board members are initially the founders of the institution. The institution has statutes that govern its operation and the board members. These statutes are laid down in a notarial deed.

Remuneration Policy

The foundation’s board members receive no compensation. Expenses incurred may be reimbursed. Expenses incurred by the board and volunteers will be reimbursed to the extent reasonable and justifiable by them. The foundation does not provide financial compensation for volunteer hours.
